RODIN

Every detail in the works of Auguste Rodín invites reflection.

Beyond the plasticity of his forms or the hyperrealism of the details, Rodín shares his inner world. It manages to achieve a universal emotionality that in turn becomes personal, depending on the viewer.

All this is achieved by breaking the frontal vision and inviting the viewer of each sculpture to surround it and recreate the details that each perspective offers.

In the course of that enveloping look, it is where Sergio Bernal discovers the magic of the author and feels the need to give life to the work.

Rodin “The Sculptor of Emotions is a ballet that depicts a part of Rodin’s Garden where sculptures take on movement while the sculptor witnesses it all.

Sergio Bernal chooses some of the sculptor’s most universal pieces.

“The Torso of Man of Louis XIV” blends aesthetic beauty coupled with the strength of a God known as the Sun King. The piece is interpreted with the purity of classical and baroque ballet using an aesthetic very similar to that of the time.

Sergio Bernal’s versatility in dance allows him to bring “The thinker to life through the language of Spanish dance. It manages to transmit viscerality and strength in the containment of thought, from impotence and pain. This is done through the shoes, strength, energy and emotion of flamenco. To do this, it is accompanied by foot-dancing, the strength, energy and emotion that flamenco transmits.

The kiss is one of the most touching works of Rodín where passion and desire in love invite tenderness. In this pas de deux two bodies are merged through the neoclassical giving free rein to all feelings and making the public participate in a beautiful love story.
